SDO Batangas City conducted a team building and stress debriefing for all DO personnel at Sonsville Resort in Mahabang Dahilig, Batangas City, allowing participants to learn, unwind, relax, and enjoy all the fun activities, May 2, 2022

SDS Felizardo O. Bolaños gave the introductory remarks, emphasizing that SDO Batangas City administration will always consider activities that will strengthen and develop not only each personnel’s physical and intellectual capabilities, but also their emotional and spiritual aspects.

He also mentioned that trust and teamwork are essential in order to achieve the organization’s stated targets and goals. He wished for everyone to have a great time throughout the event.

Ms. Charity Nuñez, RSW, Social Welfare Officer Ill from the City Social Welfare and Development Office, Batangas City, was invited as a resource person to speak about the importance of stress debriefing.

She emphasized the significance of psychosocial processing not only for the victims, but also for the secondary victims, such as uniformed personnel, social workers, teachers, and others who respond during critical occurrences. She highlighted the value of the program in assisting the employee in reducing worry or stress. She also identified the stressors, which is something that generates strain or tension.

She also cited how a person should respond to the victim, stressing the need of asking “what” rather than ‘Why.” She also mentioned the need of listening to someone as they offer their side of the story without passing judgment.

Following that, employees were divided into eight teams to foster teamwork and camaraderie. Each member’s creativity was evident, particularly in the creation of their own team flags and cheers based on their team color.

In the afternoon, participants enjoyed a variety of fun games that tested their cooperation, creativity and unity. Special awards were given to those who garnered highest points during the activities.

The activity is a part of the Wellness and Welfare Program of SDO-Batangas City led by the Top management and organized by the SGOD, specifically the Social Mobilization and Networking Section and Human Resource and Development.
