Having consistently hit the target mean percentage score in Accreditation and Equivalency test, the Schools Division of Batangas City surprisingly bagged an award of recognition during the First CLMD Excellence Night being the schools division which obtained the greatest number of Alternative Learning System (ALS) passers for a series of calendar years held at Bayleaf Hotel, Intramuros Manila last May 10, 2019.

Truly, ALS Batangas City has been achieving high performance particularly in Accreditation and Equivalency program for more than six years but the award received by the Chief of Curriculum Implementation Division who represented the SDO during the awards night really surprised the ALS team. The mean percentage score of 82.74 which was determined through Regional Curriculum Matrix (RCM) implies that the ALS facilitators have almost attained the peak of implementation of ALS program in the schools division.

The Schools Division of Batangas City was among the three SDOs which attained high performance level among other schools divisions hitting the target intended for learning delivery. This exemplary performance of the schools division highlighting Alternative Learning System program was inspired by the motto of the ALS team that is “to reach, to teach, and touch lives of the less fortunate”. Apparently, the ALS teachers with the guidance of ALS administrators conscientiously perform their duties and responsibilities even beyond expectations which led to the attainment of success in one of the Key Result Area, the learning delivery.

The first awards night spearheaded by the CLMD Chief at DepEd Regional Office truly marks a great significance in the Schools Division of Batangas City especially in the ALS implementers and facilitators as their efforts and contribution have been finally recognized.

Delighted with joy and pride of representing the SDO in the CLMD event, Dr. Sacoro Comia expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the ALS team headed by the ALS Focal Person and the two dependable Education Program Specialist II in-charge of Alternative Learning System. “I see how ALS teachers devote time and love for their ALS learners. It’s high time that they receive such recognition because for me, a teacher who does not have a big heart to the learners cannot be an ALS teacher”, Dr. Comia added. Undoubtedly, the award received by the SDO manifests the effective and powerful leadership of Dr. Donato G. Bueno and Ms. Rhina O. Ilagan as they continuously give inspiration and overflowing support to the ALS team of Batangas City Division.
